"Solitude has its own very strange beauty to it."
In this hustle bustle, we often forget what
it actually feels like sitting with oneself and doing nothing. We often find
ourselves getting indulged in various nuances which may not benefit us in the
long term. We constantly need some kind of stimulation that could make us feel
lively. We are getting used to distractions and find it quite natural to get
inclined towards it. We actually get scared by having the idea of being alone. But
in reality, inserting a little solitude in this chaotic schedule may give us
ample of positive results. First of all, we need not get confused about the
idea of loneliness and solitude. Loneliness is driven by some kind of isolation
from the group, where you wanted to take part in. whereas being in solitude
signifies some quality time with yourself doing the things which makes you feel
right. Whether you are an introverted or extroverted, you may need sometime
from your daily schedule to rejuvenate yourself.
It totally depends on you, how you want to
experience this sense of solitude. You can sit on your terrace and feel the
sweet gentle breeze moving against your body. You can go for natures walk where
you enjoy listening to the melodies of chirpings. You may even start some of
the creative hobbies which you had left in early days. It can be anything. It just needs to make you
feel alive and nourishes your soul.
Boosts creativity- It increases creativity.
Being in solitude opens up room for clear thinking. When you are able to sit with oneself, you
get time to acknowledge all the thoughts running in your head instead of
passing onto next. Once you sit with the problems you come out with creative
solutions. You even get fresh ideas about the things you have been thinking
lately. Whatever the case may be, you are going to be come up with exclusive
brainstorming ideas.
Be emphatic- When you spend time with
yourself, you get time to introspect and reflect. You become more aware of your
own thoughts and acknowledge them. You even start understanding other people’s
opinion and perspective more. This gives a sense of compassion. This trait not
only helps you to endeavour in personal journey but others field as well, be it
writing, painting or designing something. It helps to infuse others emotion and
feelings very well.
Improves relationship- As we know, how
occupied we have been since past. We
don’t even get time to address our own thoughts and even others. So, being
alone helps us to get time for ourself so that we can work on us and understand
everything from a deeper level. It helps
us to figure out who we truly are and what is our deepest enrooted desire. It
thus helps us to in becoming more compassionate and hence builds relationship
strong.
Improves memory- With quietude, you can
hear your own thoughts while reaching deeper within yourself which in turn
improves focus. It helps to remember
things very well as we try to rejuvenate our mind with some alone time. It just
increases focus as the outer stimulus gets reduced. And we become more aware of
the things we are doing in the present.
Improves productivity- Removing distractions
and interruption, will help in gaining concentration, which in turn will help
to get work done in shorter span of time. It is tough to come out with
effective solution, when one is getting distracted by incoming information that
have been flooded via electronics or humans.
