In this hustle bustle, we often forget what it actually feels like sitting with oneself and doing nothing. We often find ourselves getting indulged in various nuances which may not benefit us in the long term. We constantly need some kind of stimulation that could make us feel lively. We are getting used to distractions and find it quite natural to get inclined towards it. We actually get scared by having the idea of being alone. But in reality, inserting a little solitude in this chaotic schedule may give us ample of positive results. First of all, we need not get confused about the idea of loneliness and solitude. Loneliness is driven by some kind of isolation from the group, where you wanted to take part in. whereas being in solitude signifies some quality time with yourself doing the things which makes you feel right. Whether you are an introverted or extroverted, you may need sometime from your daily schedule to rejuvenate yourself.

It totally depends on you, how you want to experience this sense of solitude. You can sit on your terrace and feel the sweet gentle breeze moving against your body. You can go for natures walk where you enjoy listening to the melodies of chirpings. You may even start some of the creative hobbies which you had left in early days.  It can be anything. It just needs to make you feel alive and nourishes your soul.



Boosts creativity- It increases creativity. Being in solitude opens up room for clear thinking.  When you are able to sit with oneself, you get time to acknowledge all the thoughts running in your head instead of passing onto next. Once you sit with the problems you come out with creative solutions. You even get fresh ideas about the things you have been thinking lately. Whatever the case may be, you are going to be come up with exclusive brainstorming ideas.

Be emphatic- When you spend time with yourself, you get time to introspect and reflect. You become more aware of your own thoughts and acknowledge them. You even start understanding other people’s opinion and perspective more. This gives a sense of compassion. This trait not only helps you to endeavour in personal journey but others field as well, be it writing, painting or designing something. It helps to infuse others emotion and feelings very well.

Improves relationship- As we know, how occupied we have been since past.  We don’t even get time to address our own thoughts and even others. So, being alone helps us to get time for ourself so that we can work on us and understand everything from a deeper level.  It helps us to figure out who we truly are and what is our deepest enrooted desire. It thus helps us to in becoming more compassionate and hence builds relationship strong. 



Improves memory- With quietude, you can hear your own thoughts while reaching deeper within yourself which in turn improves focus.  It helps to remember things very well as we try to rejuvenate our mind with some alone time. It just increases focus as the outer stimulus gets reduced. And we become more aware of the things we are doing in the present.



Improves productivity- Removing distractions and interruption, will help in gaining concentration, which in turn will help to get work done in shorter span of time. It is tough to come out with effective solution, when one is getting distracted by incoming information that have been flooded via electronics or humans.
