“I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.”
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
What is death for you? How do you perceive death? What meaning does it hold? Is it something, you are scared of or it is something which gives a different meaning to your life?
Imagine if, mortality doesn’t exist any
longer. Then how would your life have turned into. Would you have cherished
about the fact or cried just because you didn’t get time to live plenty.
In last one year, I have lost three very
close people of mine. I was terribly moaning and one thing was common in all, I
was regretting of not spending much time with the people, I love. Maybe I
thought I had enough time or maybe I thought it could never happen with me.
Knowing that you are going to die someday
and that is not certain, then how would you end up living? Knowing that any
moment can be the last give a different perspective about life. Would you focus
more on things that make you gaiety or something that drains away the life from
you? Would you spend more time with the people you love and builds a strong
connection or devalue the people whom you love over trivial issues that would
never matter in the long run? Would you spend more time on the work which
nourishes your soul or which makes you a dead headed crap?
How you would perceive life, If I say today
is your last? would you have been grateful for the life you have lived for so
far or would you regret wasting your time and energy for the ones who never
cared for you in the first place? Would you longed for having more cars and
houses in the death bed or would you hoped for spending more time with your
family and friends? Would you regret for not following your heart and intuition
or felt glad about listening to others opinion and judgement?
Knowing we are going to die at any moment,
and that moment can come at any instance, gives so much space and time to think
upon what actually matters in the life and what were just mere illusion of what
a happy life seems like. It gives room to reflect upon self by making us more
aware of the things that actually mattered.
Even it adds meaning and value to our
living as while knowing we are going to die, just make it worthwhile. Knowing
we have limited time on this planet, we would use each second of it wisely
without wasting it on any negative emotion or which gives us discomfort.
